One of John Varley’s SF stories had “Destination Valley,” an area of the Lunar surface “selenaformed” into the very embodiment of Chesley Bonestell’s vision of the Moon - sharp crags and cliffs, fist-sized impact diamonds and volcanic emeralds, the works.  Hey, why not.
