Laughter and music rose from the field. Where stubble spread, a bonfire rose, and all the peasants reveled. A great line of dancers circled about the fire, dancing in and then out again.
Aurora sighed and leaned against Giovanni. "We had dances at court during Harvest Home. After the Lammas service."
"So did we. How we did dance."
A plume of sparks leapt up over the dancers, and shouts of glee followed.
"Your cousins were right about all the wonders a princess has. But one can lose all those and not gain those of a peasant who envies a princess."
