The start of the series.
The Abbey (existing despite the total lack of religion in the setting) is threatened by the evil brigand Cluny and his forces. The good animals must fight them off, determine his plans, and find the sword of Martin the Warrior to bring them victory.
It involves foxes outfoxing themselves, threatening a dormouse's family, that the sparrows do not speak the same language as the rest, and more.
Tends to be heavy-handed with such things as speech that is both verbose and excessively on-the-nose.
