poetry

All by T. S. Eliot

The Rock

I've read this as "Choruses from 'The Rock'" -- because Eliot did not write the entire play.

More philosophical, like Four Quartets, than some of his stuff. Still with a number of marvelous poetic images.

Ash Wednesday
a poetic mediation, full of imagery, fitting for the opening of the season of repentance and coming clean

The Waste Land

vivid and poetical scenes -- not always explicable -- bear in mind, if you read the notes, that he was sometimes dramatizing the poetry by his own admission.

Well worth reading.
