How many practicing superheroes would have jobs, anyway?

Not to say that many super-powered souls would not have regular jobs.  Either ones suiting their other talents, or ones exploiting their powers for fun and profit.  (Everything from Hollywood special effects to gardening.)  But for all the jobs superheroes have in comics, few are really compatible with a life of crime-fighting.

Superheroes would end up mostly at least associated with the police, I suppose.  Except for worlds where they are vigilantes.  I suspect those would need to be independently wealthy, or  supported by other people.  (Unless, of course, they charge "finder's fees." for stolen goods and the like.)

Crime-fighting would be too much of a career to double up with one.
