It'll take the heroine at least five minutes to be out the door, after she reviews the possibilities.
Which means I really have to decide what their motives are. And whether, come to think of it, there are motives behind them. I think they are just young idiots trying to show off, but that doesn't mean that someone couldn't have deployed them as cover for a "rescue" -- or they aren't being use by our apocalyptic plotters.
Such is the life of the superheroine. Even her origin story has high stakes. But at least the outline's moving again.
