vignette challenge

This week's prompt is:
knit
Anyone can join, with a 50-word vignette in the comments. Your vignette does not have to include the prompt term.
My efforts:
"Well," drawled Queenie, "this is a pretty pickle." Nina nodded.
The letter was loose in her fingers, and she yielded it to Jonnet without trouble. It recounted that the dragon had seemed to arrive through a tear in the world, and then knit up the gap afterward.
"Oh," she said.
By the door, a knight in gleaming armor talked with a robot and an ice queen, complete with crown and specter. Next to them, a woman in a long gray gown knitted while listening to a miner lugging his pike and wearing a breath filter.
They always did show off.
A pompous, rotund lord held forth on how such links would knit the country together, bringing the peace that all true knights strove for when they went to war, with a formality more suitable to an occasion of state. From the wry smiles all about, that was commonplace enough.
