He hid himself from sight and flew down, his heart hammering. Look, he told himself. Look. A raven can fly where a man can not. You must look and see if there is a way in here. His hands were shaking. And the necromancy was rising higher as he searched.
I found him in the ceramics lab, slamming a mess of semi-liquid clay back and forth on the wedging table. There was something about his expression that suggested it would be best not to interrupt him. So I got back to my own project and left him to his work.
About an hour later, having pretty much emptied both of the scrap-clay bins, he took a sizeable lump of clay and set to work creating a series of small sculptural pieces. It was so different from what he had been doing that I hazarded a question.
"It's a great way to work off stress. That way I don't beat the snot out of someone who richly deserves it, and the lab ends up with a lot of workable clay, ready for the next class."
