Ah, the bildungsroman! I know the years ahead. I know many events that will happen in them.
I even know that some will happen before others!
It's a bit harder to fit the whole of them together into a structure. Even though I know what her studies will cumulate in, I have to build the studies that way.
Plus of course the subplot I hadn't expected. It does have one advantage that I can justify a plot twist by having her realize something after she does something to quell a subplot element.
Ah, the structure of a story.
