Why are orcs green in D&D?  Hmmm. . . I know!  It's the forces of Chaos that produced them.  Because random alterations in appearance are exactly the sort of thing that chaos would do . . . .

You just reverse engineered why World of Warcraft Orcs are green. Theirs is demonic/"fel" energy, though.

I think that means it's a good idea.
