wonder, wonder, wonder

Trying to put some moments of enchantment and wonder in the story. . .

It would kinda help if the characters were not all wizards. Sure, magic. Oodles of magic. It's their -- well, not job for the main ones That's because it's still their course of study.

Of course, that makes it possible to make them wonder over seeing the effects of their spells.  Students can cast a lot more spells for the first time. This does have the problem that much of their spellcraft is immensely practical because they are facing the peril of very evil wizards who intend them harm.   It cuts down on the wonder.

Fortunately, they go to, and through, some enchanted places. Magic neither caused by nor affecting them directly makes it easier.
