As Toni made her way through the Contra Costa School of Magic in search of the griefer, or at least his digital fingerprints, she was keenly aware of how well the devs had blended their source material. The obvious inspiration for the structure was the famous Winchester Mystery House down in San Jose, but the fluidity of the interior structure went back to the series that had made the whole "magic school" genre so enormously popular. The result was a storyscape that remained true to player expectations of an Academy game, yet felt as if it'd grown organically from its California setting, rather than looking like an unthinking transplant of its English original to the New World.
