the joys of revision

One wants to revise a work rather briskly near the end.

Briskly enough that you remember that one scene before you had sent an extremely dark thunderstorm on the building where your characters are, and so if you want them to see outside, you probably want to clear it up.

The irony is in the scene after that, it was night and dark again.
