Some writers can, if stuck, go on and write future scenes.

I'm not one of them.

To be sure, I can go back and insert scenes if I realize they are needed, but if I know a scene is needed, it needs to be done, because otherwise, there might to be too many changes in the future scenes if I don't know what's in this one.

If the outline omitted it, or omitted crucial details, of course. Those sprout with such ease. . . .
