In this world, every kingdom has its borders and all within them bespelled. Does wonderful things for health, defense, life, etc.

I was pondering the mountainous regions where kings do not reign. I think, perhaps, that villages and even farms have smaller scale spells. This has consequences. For instance, the spells help protect against congenital health issues. Hence, there are rumors about children who are born with problems.
