“As ye deal with My contemners, so with you My grace shall deal”

Hm. "My contemners" are "those who treat Me with contempt." So the implication would seem to be "treat with mercy those who treat Me with contempt and I will treat you with mercy." Or have I got it backward? If not, a surprisingly compassionate thing to find in the middle of such a martial song.
