marycatelliGave the heroine a thing of magic, in the best fairy tale style, early in the book. Fits the fairy tale, is in fact the only way she could do something. . .
Encumbers me with the heroine's possessing it.
I think I may have it just expire on the principle that it was of limited use, and its fairy tale is done.
Come to think of it, she may get warned of that, however vaguely, when she gets it. . .
Sometimes plot devices can be disposed of nicely.
