marycatelliWas pondering for some time whether to put in the scene where a villainess finds out certain information, or the scene where she and her confederates clash and blame her.
Both would be redundant and so slow things down. So, pick one. Which was more dramatic -- hmmm, hmmm, hmmm. . . .
It took some time before it dawned on me that the confederates, too, would investigate the scene. No need to stage them at a different times. They can throw the accusations at each other while standing at the scene of the events.
More to the point, they can lay down the law that Something Must Be Done about our heroine, thus conveying the twist at the same time as the discovery of what the heroine had done. And raise the stakes from her continual but non-cumulative successes.
