magic weapons

marycatelliShould I give the main characters magical weapons? They're high level, on one hand; on the other hand, they have other magical objects; on the third hand, they had a good opportunity to provide themselves with them in the origin story. . . .
I suspect I'm going to have decide on more for the adventures between the origin and the current one. If they fought monsters where magical weapons were needed for victory. That would not only make them more likely to seek them out, but also to find them as loot in the monsters' lair, where injudicious adventurers found them necessary but insufficient.
There are people more suited to front-line fighting in the party, but -- one of them has no magic, and the other one has no magic with offensive capabilities.
I may have to have them ask for the weapons. They do, after all, have powerful patrons who really want them to succeed on this venture.
