how to kill a dragon

A different dragon, in a different story. . . for different plot purposes. . . .
Starting with the way this is a fairy tale world, not Gamelit
I went and did some hunting up of fairy tales for dragon slaying -- it's less common than it's believed to be -- expecting it mostly to be "they fought, the hero won."
Turns out that -- the animal companions are a lot more helpful than I remember. Starting with the ones where the hero's part in the fight is to sic a dog on the dragon -- albeit a dog that can bite through iron -- and let it win. Others put out the fire that the dragon started. And other things -- that the fox accompanying this hero is not going to do. In fact, I sent the fox off to do something else during the fight.
Did get some idea for some crafty stuff for him to do to give him the opening. And I can rip off the epics for the dragon's vulnerability, since even a fairy tale novel can't make the fight as short and undetailed as it can be in a fairy tale.
