the start of the story

Not the first page. The seed that grows into the story.

Was pondering it philosophically, because the very first scene I thought of for a story, which was the start of it all --

Is not even a very important scene, structurally.

Then, I've written stories that sprang from scenes -- and the scene didn't even make it in in the first pass, so this one is doing well.
