The handwriting was recognizable, with the large, bold letters.
"What is it?" said Nico.
Corridon opened his mouth and wrestled with words before coming out with, "It is too dangerous for us to visit the city."
Or so the governor says, he thought. They looked horrified enough without that knowledge.

Rosine sighed. They should leave. When they were the strongest fighters in the company, it was unbalanced, and would have a hard time against commonplace perils.
And if Florio did not want to leave -- she looked at her hands -- she should. But she doubted that she could manage such boldness.

"There are bold adventurers," said Edwin. "And old adventurers. But there are no old, bold adventurers."
He eyed them both, but neither Aidan nor Imogene showed a flicker of surprise. They had heard that before.
"So what does an adventurer who prefers old to bold do about such a wizard?"

Arthur's shoulders sank as Delia's companion's shoulders shook with stifled laughter. His carefully crafted script evaporated.

"Yoda you model?" Delia asked with a raised eyebrow.

With a sudden spark of inspiration, Arthur shot back "No, Legolas! Dance we must!"
