"They are not playing around," said Lunette, sharply. "They have many weapons. Fire attacks. Drowning attacks. Enormous strength. And they can stick sharp, pointy things into you."
"They are plenty strong enough to make that hurt," said Apollos. "Some of them have managed to hurt me, which is not easy."

Lizt glared at the cowering trio. She'd been lucky to catch them by surprise. If they decided to rush her... She didn't want to think of that.

She grinned as evilly as she could, and forced herself to lick the bloody knife.

An unseen nick on the blade scraped her tongue.

"Always keep the wood ax sharp," said Bredon. "It's safer that way."
The youngsters scowled, or cast disbelieving glances.
"A sharp ax goes into the wood and stays there. A dull ax glances off and hits your leg, which is somewhat more yielding. Or someone else's leg, which is worse."

"Be careful," said Tiffany. "That could be sharp."
"It is sharp," said Jacob. "And not human. Nothing like this on the face of the earth."
"Holding out on us?" said Stephan. Jacob gave him a baneful glare, and Stephan ignored him. "Got powers that tell you where something comes from?"

Aurelie handed Florio the sword, and her the quiver. Rosine pulled out the arrows and inspected their edges. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Florio look closely at his sword, and Aurelie looking with approval.
"Adventurers with experience check for themselves," said Rosine. It shouldn't surprise her.

"He's lying," said Aidan.
Lawrence snorted. "So sharp you will cut yourself, you are. Going and blurting out that I'm lying when I'm so good that you will never be able to show it."
Then he realized that everyone was staring at him, and then what he had said. "Witch!"
