surprises and revelations

marycatelliWas poking at an outline. Moving along, glancing at the image I had used for inspiration -- a man and a woman, with her helping him -- the thing is, she doesn't match any of the three women I have as characters --
Not that she doesn't look like any of them, I could work around that. But that they couldn't be doing what she is doing -- and I was poking around, not yet pondering whether to jettison the image, but wondering whether I could introduce her and have her leave somewhere --
Then it dawned on me. She will just vanish.
Then it will dawn on them that they are in a necromancer's lair -- a fact that they had thought they had grasped -- and that she was a ghost.
Gonna have to figure out how the ghosts fit in the plot. They will complicate life. And metaphysics. But I do have a necromancer. . . .
