The road forked, and the creature's shadow fell over it. He turned. The shadow dimmed. He had not intended to shine this brightly, but the faces turned up toward him, and filled with radiant hope as his light broke the shadow.
He cursed his powers' source and his ignorance again.

"I can pretend to be Serena when I walk, and even do a fair imitation of her voice. But a state dinner has rules of protocol and etiquette so detailed it takes years to learn!"

"Just do as they do. And if you have to stab the ambassador, use the salad fork."

When the street forked, she took the uphill road without any thought, or a glance at the rickety buildings below. A flood of small children in neatly mended clothes bubbled out of a granny school, and Autumn pulled aside, smiling, watching the merry little faces, and thinking of the future.

Toni looked over Cather's shoulder, tilting her head a little to get a better angle at the LCD monitor. "LibreOffice is a fork of OpenOffice.org, so if you're having trouble with your formatting getting munged when you save in RTF in OpenOffice, it's unlikely you're going to have any better luck with LibreOffice. I could take a look at the source code and see if I can work out a solution."

She returned her attention to her own machine. A little typing later, and she looked back up. "Alternatively, you could just learn how to use Styles. Apparently that actually works properly in RTF format."
