The Jotun's spell had been worth every drop of blood. He didn't dare touch to be sure, but every translucent eyelash stood in its place. The lips were clear instead of red. Her breasts were hills of ice, magnifying the view of the table below.

She opened her eyes.

He yawned and rubbed the ice from his eyes and crackled it out of his red beard.

His armor scraped against the stone as he sat up and turned to stand up from the pedestal. "They need me again!"

He unsheathed his sword and called for the portal to open.

The wine was full of slush.

"Don't fret. Drain the slush and set it in another barrel. When it melts you can give it to the children. But let this freeze again tonight, and drain the slush a second time. The unfrozen winter-proof of the wine will be drink indeed!"
