"Ice would be nice," said April, sitting back.
"They had ice houses once," said Rose. "Big buildings with thick stone walls, and you chopped ice off the lakes and stored it there with lots of sawdust, until summer."
"I think," said Hope, "that even with the automata to build, it would be wise to use straight magic for the ice."

"If there's any water here," said Karl, "it will be ice."
"Let us hope it glitters," said Celestine. "The last thing we need is treacherous footing."
The words echoed in that odd, twisted way. Angela sighed. It would not take even a goblin to do her in if she started.

Ice glittered, brilliant as diamonds, on every branch. Tiffany sighed, looking at it.
"In the mountains, it was generally rain, or snow. Not this ice." She looked down, to where the over-burdened tree boughs had fallen. Not even their diamond brilliance could save them from ugliness.

"At least it's snow, and not ice," said Aidan, knee-deep in the whiteness. "This is better than having no purchase at all."
"So young to be so wise," said Robert, dryly. "We put another log on. Get one to warm up."
Aidan nodded and plodded off to the wood shed.

"I don't think the monsters scare off the adventurers," said Rosine, holding her cup. "Nor needing magic to fight them. I think it's the winters. Many last all summer and fall, but flee with the snow and ice."
"If they move fast enough," said Florio. "Some flee in the spring."

"Is that ice?" said Ciara, sharply. "It's cold, but ice?"
"Oh yes," said Lucie. "Felix and I found it before. It is freezing down there in the height of summer. We once ventured down the cave so far that we saw ice so thick that it was blue, or green."

The Jotun's spell had been worth every drop of blood. He didn't dare touch to be sure, but every translucent eyelash stood in its place. The lips were clear instead of red. Her breasts were hills of ice, magnifying the view of the table below.

She opened her eyes.

He yawned and rubbed the ice from his eyes and crackled it out of his red beard.

His armor scraped against the stone as he sat up and turned to stand up from the pedestal. "They need me again!"

He unsheathed his sword and called for the portal to open.

Amazing how it builds up

The wine was full of slush.

"Don't fret. Drain the slush and set it in another barrel. When it melts you can give it to the children. But let this freeze again tonight, and drain the slush a second time. The unfrozen winter-proof of the wine will be drink indeed!"
