"Ah, time to celebrate," roared Bellangere, her black hair swirling as she turned about, her pale face showing a broad grin. "Our haul deserves a festival!"
"Got the good stuff!" said Ellyn, waving a bottle of the winter cider.
Rosine flinched. Not drinking that was not enough, because they would.

The church stood, gray and solemn, with the garlands of flowers just visible in the doorway. Carolus nodded to them, and pointed the ways. Rosine released Florio's arm and let him go off to the right where the men gathered, as she joined the bride among the women.
Lilac smiled.

"Let us celebrate, therefore, with bonfires and banquets," said Edwin.
Imogene scowled.
"Shall we let Fortune's bounty go to waste? It would serve us right if she withheld such graces in the future, if we forewent them. Even if we should remember to avoid the folly of their dead owners."

With the leaves all golden about her, Tiffany stood in her blue gown, crowned with white flowers, and smiled timidly.
Ivan's breath came out slowly.
Bernard led her slowly forward, into the chapel, and the people of his estate followed, decked with flower garlands, ready to celebrate his daughter's wedding.

He nodded. "We will, of course, celebrate your vesting before we send you. Unfitting to send you less than prepared to such a summons. Given that it will be you alone, and that you will travel from those who witness, we will not do so with full pomp and circumstance."

They draped the garlands with flowers, and much laughter.
"One wonders that they have the strength to do that," said Rose.
"Consider how much effort that the golems have spared them," said Hope. "Certainly it takes less to make garlands than a bridge."
"Tomorrow, you can divert them to our work," said April, with a mug of ale in hand.

Jules stared. "She did it." His voice was slow and wondering. "She really did it."
"You must be joking," said Catherine, pushing her way over. Then she stared at the wound, looking more shocked than celebratory.
"How did you do that?" she said.
"Never mind," said Jules. "Cure the others."

Autumn let out her breath slowly. This was not a celebration. Only a ball. If she showed her grace and charm off deftly enough, her brothers might convince the man that she could serve as a hostess for balls as well as a guest.
Then they would have a celebration.

Bonnie looked at the dolls set beside ill-assorted cups and saucers. "What's the celebration?"

Jilly straightened out a teaspoon and replied "This is Pinocchio's birthday. Today the dolls come to life."

Raggedy Ann was missing an arm. "Will she be OK? And what about the witch?"

"Even ones I forgot."

"Is that a promise or a warning, teacher?"

"Both, perhaps. But if we do not sing, the rocks will."

"That sounds like fun!"

"My grandfather didn’t think it was."

"Suppose I don't feel like singing? Suppose I'm sad?"

"Then dance and sing anyway. After a while you'll feel like singing."
