So I figure out what to do with the next scene. The next chapter, in fact.
Into the bit bucket with it.
sigh
Is this going to be a shorter story than I thought? Or do I need to complicate the story? Hmm -- a discussion of royal castles and things from the chapter might be reworked. And I could discuss people who try to break the curse from the christening be. . . .
What will the king's reaction be? Does he have delusions that he fixed the problem? Then why does he let everyone fuss over the poor cursed princess at the expense of everyone else? Perhaps that's the fault of the queen, and he can't be bothered. . . .
And meanwhile, people who claim to fix it try to get audience by a sideways route.
And the king has portraits made to send all around to kingdoms. Or something. A portrait might be useful.
