encounters
Feb. 2nd, 2021 11:58 pmIt's all very well to plan out how the heroine and the others escape from the evil and violent monsters.
You still have to get them to meet in the first place.
Even if you know the vague outlines, the details matter.
sigh

Date: 2021-02-04 05:33 pm (UTC)The path links the two tribes through the forest, so somebody should have noticed the ancient evil already and posted warnings. Why didn't they see the warnings?
1) Nobody escapes--that would be a bad sign by itself, and they'd be hypervigilant. Oops
2) The ancient evil has changed its lair--but that ancient lair is supposed to hide something else plot-related, so ... oops
3) The sign is in the wrong language--now you have to retrofit the tribes to speak different languages, and explain how the team was planning to manage in a new land where they don't speak the language
4) The ancient evil has roaming minions now that capture them. You've got some new villains to keep track of, who may step off on their own now and then...
5) They left the path for some good reason. Now you've got to change the forest (locally) to make that reasonable, and to keep going when when it starts to get bad again, and have the reason be in character with the Cassandra-esque one who didn't want to be on this trip anyway...
