the muse and the tales
Jul. 13th, 2021 11:16 pmMy muse seems chronically incapable of retelling a single fairy tale.
Even when I set out to tell one -- Sleeping Beauty from another POV -- the POV character ponders Cinderella and thinks All Kinds of Fur more relevant to her situation. And another character has alluded to Iron Hans, and at one point she and her parents will riff on various tales and how the heroine married.
Ah, well. Perhaps I should spend more time pondering whether a heroine now named Elise should have a love interest named Edward and if not, what I should name him instead that does not begin with "E."
