Well, she would do that. She would have the gardeners teach her all there was to know about planning the gardens. And then, when they were no longer afraid of her learning their spells, she would have them instruct her into all the planting.
She might even learn the spells.

"We could use it to study. We thought that enchantments of time would prove useful, but we couldn't find anyone to instruct us in them."
Felix nodded.
"Perhaps we could study them for ourselves."
"It would eat time, except that I'm sure this library has nothing, and we can't leave."
