"Think nothing of it, Lady Ava," said the king. "It is well for young scholars to be curious about what they will learn." He shifted forward. "Though it is more likely than you will study the properties of copper in the next few years than the details of such spells."

At least her hair was copper, her eyes green. Striking perhaps, but she could pass.
Information flooded again. She could feign dying her hair. and contact lenses for her eyes. She bit her lip and told herself that would work only if people would believe that she would do it.

Otto snorted. "You'll persuade her that someone will give a ball of copper, a ball of silver, and a ball of gold, and someone will marry the prince at the end."
"What prince?" said Autumn.
"Don't ask," said Otto. "Nobles who come incognito stay that way. Lady Floriana, for one."

A little crowd of the curious watched Denis swirl cups around on the box. Luca asked questions, and a likely looking flat drifted in—a little better dressed than average, alone and with a swaggering air.
But even in plain clothes Rafael could spot a copper. He put his hand over his heart.
