tell them a story

The princess get dragooned into telling younger children a story.
End of story, a boy says something, and the princess realizes she had to go get something. Despite knowing that other people will try to stop her -- at least, if they get wind of it.
Which means I need a story. With a quest. And preferably one where the main character is going against someone's will to go on the quest. Which can't be The Water of Life. Or The Bold Knight, the Apples of Youth, and the Water of Life. On account of that tale type is going to feature in the main plot of the story. (Never tell a story that too closely echoes the story it's told in!)
And the ones where the princess sets out to seek her fortune like The Three Heads In the Well don't fit. Still less Catskin -- the quest object is too vague.
Possibly The Giant Who Had No Heart In His Body.
