Cloak Mage book 6. Spoilers ahead for the earlier books and earlier series. . . .
And indeed opens in media res with Nadia and Neil Freeman in flight with plans to head for London, her to reunite with Riordan, him to just go home. Nadia gets a call from Riordan. His job went bad, all the cultists died at the hands of -- something, which then took a plane flight, and does not act like a creature of the Shadowlands. It's heading to Milawkee, so they change their plans, too, as Nadia calls up the police chief whom she knows from a prior book.
It involves a warning from the pilot before this, a squirrel, someone from Neil's past, a number of Shadowhunters, Moran Imports and a visit from two Elven dukes, an elderly elf teaching Russell something, and more.
