serial numbers and points of view

Should I increase the number of scenes from other points of view? Particularly earlier in the story?
Would increase the difference from the story I'm ripping off, because the heroine remained in vast ignorance of the hero, and while she's doing that in this story, too, that the reader would know would introduce much more dramatic irony into the story.
The question is whether it leaches out the tension if the readers know more.
OTOH, much more tension depends on things outside her ignorance. Crippling insecurity for the heroine is less of an issue when dealing with the hero if the reader knows the hero is actually kind-hearted, but it's still a problem if the queen is a monster bent on destroying the hero.
