Honor let out her breath very slowly. They cut down the sprouts turned saplings when they were long enough to serve as poles, for fences or whatever else.
What had she been studying back home? She had asked after philosophy, not history.
Perhaps she should have asked to become a historian.
Then she shook her head. She could hardly blame herself for not guessing what would be the most prudent choice on the limited knowledge she had. And a historian could not cure the ward of the poisoned who lay ahead of her.
"Mistress Honor!"
She turned to go on.
