Date: 2025-08-18 01:05 am (UTC)Lily set aside her brush and turned to him. "What's wrong?"
"I just got an e-mail informing us that Dragonbanner Screenprinting will not be welcome as a vendor at next year's RandCon."
Lily's heart thudded against her ribs. "Why?"
"According to them, there was a complaint that you were abusive to a member of their staff."
"Abusive?" Lily racked her memory, trying to think of any interaction that could've even remotely categorized as 'abusive.' "Unless it was that woman I told off when she was called Marty a clonespawn when her kid tried to cut in front of Marty in the line at the con suite. After all, their Code of Conduct specifically prohibits any form of namecalling or verbal cruelty..."
Roy shook his head. "Only against protected classes. Race, national origin, all of that. But not a word about genomic status, so apparently their concom expected you and Marty to Just Take It."
"So scratch that convention off the list." Lily retrieved her brush and went back to work. "Maybe we ought to pass the word to some other vendors, let them know that RandCon considers anti-Sharp bigotry cool."

Date: 2025-08-18 04:39 am (UTC)Moments later, the birds fell silent. Not screaming. Not beating against the house.
Inside, there was nothing but the woman haranguing the children. Honor turned.
Children stood between her and the woman. The nearest girl had a red mark on her cheek as if struck.
