Date: 2026-03-09 02:59 am (UTC)On the last page, there was, still in her neatest hand, a spell of the Great Dream. To trap people in an area and make them dream that time passed and passed, in less than an hour.
She stared at it for a long minute. Then, her heart hammering, she slapped shut the book and closed her eyes. She had no desire to ever cast such a spell.
But.
What else did she have to protect herself, and her family, and their lands? What if the dream princes had only acted as princes would, in times to come?
She stood, holding the book. The other spells she would use as needed, but she could not see using that one. With care, she put the book away, and then she blew out the candle.
