marycatelliSo I've gotten the heroine through the underground labyrinth -- having taken great care to remember how she saw at any given point -- and now she's walking up to the royal treasury.
Ah, safety!
Well, not absolutely, and she knows it, but she's not penetrating some underground tomb laden with grave goods. It isn't designed to kill anyone who gets in, because people need to get in and out on a regular basis. She slipped by all human guards with the underground bit, and has secret strength to deal with magical ones -- but still, that's far less than you sometimes find in stories, rather implausibly. Nothing, I dare say, to what is found in some video games for sacrificing realism to danger.
Then, for obvious reasons, she's going to deal briskly with this portion, and get on to the next challenges.
