Write What You Know?
Jan. 21st, 2013 10:32 pmNote the question mark. The panelists were glad of it. As one put it, you should write what you can find out.
One audience member talked about putting his character in Brazil and needing him to meet up with magic. Whereupon, to his apparent surprise, the panelists (with some audience participiation) pounced on the notion of why he was in Brazil and whether he could be moved. To Portugal, perhaps. Or to an actually non-existent tropical island. Anywhere where the research could be easier, or the stuff invented.
Much discussion of picking people's brains, and how thick fandom is in resources.
