I remember this line, although not precisely where I read it. Dorian Gray, maybe? except that doesn't feel right.
anyways, there was quite a lot more to it than just this one line and oddly it's been on my mind lately. This, as well as an essay I have somewhere written by Carver. Wilde was a perceptive man. well worth re-reading his words.
hnh, that's a bit of a from-mind-to-fingers ramble. nevermind me. I just really like the quote and thought it amusingly coincidental that I'd come across it while pondering it.
