revising while cranky
Feb. 7th, 2009 04:48 pmWriting while cranky is simple. Just do it. Sure, it is without a fraction of a doubt the worst piece of prose ever perpetrated on defenseless phosphors, but just write it anyway.
You won't even be able to tell, when you come back and reread it, what the portions were that were written while cranky.
It's revising that's the pain. When you have to think and consider and decide whether this is good enough. And it's worst when you know that you have external reasons to feel cranky, it might not actually be the stupidest thing anyone ever wrote in the entire history of writing fiction.
sigh
