subtlety in synonyms, and double meanings

When you're trying to name things, English's great plethora of synonyms with all their subtle shades of meaning.  But on the other hand, if you want a particular subtle shade, you may have a limited set.

And if the synonyms have more than one meaning, things get uglier still.  Especially if the context is not clear at once. 

I needed a title, which had to mean someone who set things in order.  Organize them, not order them from a store.  Organizer sounded too modern.  And all sorts of other terms had other faults.  Dispenser.  Deployer.  Regulator.  There's only so much a thesaurus can do for you, even Roget's organized by

I finally settled on Arranger.  Perhaps it will grow on me.
