So the heroine of the tale is walking into the mill. . . .

Chasing some young boys.  For the purpose of getting them, or maybe the old miller, to tell the tale about the mill a generation back -- and why the princess and later queen in the next kingdom had such a nose.

Which brings up the point that the princess is not guaranteed to get the guy.

But it does mean I need to describe the mill sufficiently well. . . I've been in mills before.  Water mills.  Let's see if I can pull this off. . . .

Don't mills that are grinding grain usually have a lot of fine particles of wheat dust or whatever floating around in the air, at least while the mill wheels are turning? Maybe she could have trouble catching up to the boys once they run inside because she unexpectedly inhales a mouthful of dust and gets a coughing fit or something.
