temporal decisions
Sep. 30th, 2014 10:43 pmOnce upon a time, there was a heroine. She lived in a world where there were libraries and pastry shops and dame schools -- all of good and sufficient plot reasons. Also, I think, trains.
She wasn't very big on paying attention to her surroundings, for various reasons, and so I was meandering along when it occurred to me that at one point she is wondering why her cousins and siblings have not something stupid and dangerous. It's not like they ever forbear from doing anything on those grounds. Diving in the abandoned, flooded mine -- playing in the house that's falling apart and already has gaping holes in the floor where wood rotted away --
Drunk driving?
Mind you, given cars, even Model Ts, they would be driving when drunk among their other virtues. . . but only if I give the world cars.
There's a limit to how much you can leave open forever. Decisions, decisions. . . .
