Icy-cold water or not, Talia tried to stick her head under the faucet, but the angle was too awkward to drink from. She lifted her water-splashed face.

"Anyone got a jar?" She looked about.

"A hose would be better," said Tristan dryly.

"We can wash out a jar more easily."

The sight of him jars her, every time. The world shifts, as if Earth pauses in its rotation and starts again with a bump. They're still not speaking--but they will. She knows it.

I love the vignette prompts that have multiple meanings--can be a noun or a verb, etc.

I've found that sometimes I put a very different twist on it than most.
