My venture:
"Down here," said John, morosely.
Tristan hurried, and looked where John was playing the light: a thick tangle of pipes and tubing. Some of them color-coded, which was about the only way to tell them apart.
"Looks like a tight squeeze," he said, and realized that only he could fit.
