"Take this," said Clutterbuck, handing out laminated badges. Complete, noted Tristan, with their photographs. He suppressed a laugh as hysterical.

"Very important. You must not be admitted without a badge."

After a moment of their looking at him, he added, "I keyed it to admit you everywhere. Top secret, even."
