The Guns of Avalon by Roger Zelazny

Second book.  Spoilers ahead for Nine Princes In Amber.

After the cliffhanger, we see Corwin coming to shore and sending the boat back to the lighthouse.  He lands in a Shadow with chivalric elements; names from the Matter of Britain and Matter of France, too, at that, but not distinctly those literatures.  But he helps a wounded knight and discovers that a man he exiled is here, and also that an evil circle is causing dire trouble here.  And he remembers the curse he laid in Amber, which would of course ripple through all the shadows.

It winds on from there.  Including Corwin's knowledge that while gunpowder does not explode in Amber, something else does, one of his brothers trying to kill him as a murderer and Corwin's sending a third brother to rescue him, a black road, a woman who lies to Corwin and another who has no face, and more.

I wonder if the title was meant to echo The Guns of Navarone, or if that was just a coincidence. I know I can never hear one without thinking of the other.
