marycatelliLast time I talked about forensics in Harry Potter, I missed one: time turners.
Yes, they are treated as terrible in Cursed Child, but in Prisoner, one is given to a schoolgirl to add her studies. They didn't regard them as that terrible, and nothing happened in the course of the books to make them so dreaded.
Yes, there is plenty of potential for abuse, but also for use. Despite the time limit in checking, if you acted promptly and used good judgment (and sufficient spells), you could get yourself an unbiased witness to just about any recent event.
Especially during the Wizarding Wars. They were not stinting on dirty business when it came to fighting Voldemort. They would have used 'em without shame or fear to work things out.
